Fixed up
Having cracked the bone in my leg prior to fighting (thanks to my training partner Simon!) and damaged the ligaments I think it wise to say that rolling with reverse heel-hooks a week prior to a fight is a bad idea. The upside to this is that the MRI scan showed that no really unpleasant damage was done and I am slowly on the mend! Although I'm not training properly I am back to the gym and boxing and doing a little light rolling. I reckon another 4 weeks and the bone will be fixed up, but a little longer for the ligaments to stop being a problem. Which leads me onto to wondering when I can get back to fighting, when and who should be next? I have some making up to do after my last loss!

Oh well
I lost to Francis and I lost the light-weight Ultimate Challenge Belt. A few weeks has past and I have stopped sulking about it. I was fairly unhappy but what can you do apart from pick yourself up and get back to training!? I wonder if I could get a re-match? I'm thinking I would like that belt back but the odds are I will be down the list of people now wanting to fight for it. Anyway, I'll be a the next show watching with interest Jason Young vs Abdul Mohamed. This will be an interesting fight as I really can't predict an outcome although if it stays standing I think Jason takes it and if it goes to ground then my money is on Abdul.
I'm gutted I missed the Sinclair vs Sass fight! Will there be a re-match or who will be Sass' next opponent? The suspense is killing me!

Ultimate Challenge - Mayhem!
A week and a bit to go until the big day! I'm hungry and generally annoyed and miserable due to a lack of sweets, pizza and Fosters but its going to be worth it.
Here is the blurb for the evening...
After the groundbreaking event which was " Payback" , Ultimate Challenge UK won’t even pause for breath as we head straight towards the explosive night of action of our much anticipated September 19th Event " MAYHEM", to be held in Europe’s premier MMA venue, The Troxy, London E1 0HX
The main event will Feature multi millionaire, Kiane Sabet who is facing up to the hardest man in Kent, in the shape of the formidable Ben Smith. This bout has been rescheduled to this date due to intensity of media interest and the making of a fly on the wall documentary which follows the footsteps of both men in the lead up to this fight. The trash talk started weeks ago and has become personal and heated. It is constantly building and should reach a crescendo on fight night. Kiane has been enraged by accusations of not taking the bout seriously and intends to chastise Ben inside the cage. Ben also has a point to prove and is looking to further cement his place in the Heavyweight rankings by moving himself further up the pecking order. This will be a mammoth contest between two giant men and will have the crowd on their feet from the start.
Jack Mason versus Alex Reid has already wetted the appetite of the country’s media due Alex’s romance with Katie Price, a relationship which has focused nationwide attention on the build up to this bout. Alex takes every fight extremely seriously and will not underestimate the threat of Jack ‘The Stone’ Mason. Alex will put all other thoughts to the back of his mind and approach this fight in the same professional way that he always has. Jack Mason is not being swayed by the media interest being generated around his opponent and has stepped up his training in preparation to meet the tough challenge that is Alex Reid. Alex has been in the Cage with some of the best fighters on the International circuit and has a wealth of experience on his side. Jack has explosive power and will be looking to overwhelm Alex and record a truly memorable victory.
With all the makings of being fight of the night Francis Heagney takes on the reigning Ultimate Challenge UK Lightweight Champion, Tim Radcliffe. Both fighters have incredible ground skills, as well as great striking abilities. At this moment in time it is impossible to separate the ability of these men or to find a single weakness in their game, making this bout one of the most anticipated fights in UK MMA this year. Each man comes from a strong camp, with Radcliffe representing Nova Forca and Heagney hailing from London Shootfighters. Their support will be equally rapturous as they stake their individual claims to walk out of the Cage clutching that coveted Lightweight belt.
The Grand Prix bouts continue with an intriguing match up between London Shootfighter Tony Pasos and the hard hitting showman, Jamie Hearn. Tony Pasos earned his right of passage by beating a game Chris Greig and is determined to win a place in the final, but Jamie Hearn will be standing in his way. It was Jamie who dispatched Chris Harman in the fight that set up this match up. Pasos is a great all rounder and will be looking to utilise all his skills to nullify the big hitting Hearne, who as always, will be battling for the spectacular knockout that he is capable of delivering with either hand.
Wesley Murch will strive to reclaim his winning ways when he faces the resilient Mark Smith. Both men are determined to make a statement inside the Cage. Wesley is a great all rounder and has devastating Ground n Pound, whilst Mark has knockout power in both hands and will be focused on keeping the fight standing. This will be a true battle of wills between two very evenly matched fighters and it may all come down to one error of judgement to separate them on the night.

Ultimate Challenge - Next fight
It looks like the BAMMA final between myself and Francis could now take place on Ultimate Challenge on 19th September. Although this is just waiting to be confirmed (I have said yes) I am pleased to have a fight now scheduled after the disappointment of seeing BAMMA fold and there being no belt on the line. It should be 100% in the next couple of days.
